Aldi Coming to Dumbarton: Plans for New Store Approved
Planning Meeting Gives Green Light to Development
Application to be Submitted to West Dunbartonshire Council
In a planning meeting held on August 7, West Dunbartonshire Council approved proposals to build a new Aldi store in Dumbarton.
Aldi has been preparing a planning application and is seeking feedback from the community to incorporate into the application before submitting it to the council.
Plans for a 4.7 Million Pound Store
Aldi officially submitted plans for the new 4.7 million pound store in November 2022.
The local authority estimates the development could provide a significant boost to the area.
First Aldi Store in Dumbarton
If approved, the 4.7 million pound development on Castle Street will create 35 new jobs.
This will be the first Aldi store in Dumbarton, offering a convenient shopping option to residents.
Transforming Vacant Land
The new Aldi store will be located on the former Allied Distillers site on vacant land next to Castle Street.
The development will revitalize the area and provide much-needed retail space.
Community Feedback Welcome
Aldi encourages residents to provide feedback on the planning application.
This feedback will help shape the final application submitted to West Dunbartonshire Council.
